Microsoft reports a 2% decline in Xbox content and services revenue

The comparison covers the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Microsoft reports a smaller 1% decline after adjusting for currency movements.

Microsoft released its first-quarter fiscal 2027 results on October 28. Company-wide revenue reached $92.3 billion, a 19% increase, while the Devices and Consumer segment generated $15.5 billion, down 3%. Xbox content and services is one component of that segment.

The gaming measure combines several businesses; it is not a standalone Game Pass subscriber count or a unit-sales result for any particular release. The headline release does not attribute the decline to one game, price change or platform. Its constant-currency comparison also separates some exchange-rate effects from reported growth.

The result gives publishers a fresh quarterly indicator of Microsoft’s gaming business, rather than evidence that every part of the Xbox ecosystem moved in the same direction.
