Aream’s Q3 update estimates mobile IAP spending at $19.6 billion
The October report puts quarterly in-app-purchase revenue below the prior year. Its leading-grossing comparison shows how difficult it has been for recent launches to displace incumbents.
The update draws on Sensor Tower data through September and compares mobile with other games-market segments. This is an IAP measure, so it should not be presented as total mobile industry revenue including advertising and every off-store sale. The top-grossing observation concerns a defined ranking, not a claim that no new game succeeded. These boundaries matter when translating market contraction into a studio’s own revenue expectations.
