Sensor Tower finds more fast-selling PC and console breakouts
The study counts games that sold at least 500,000 paid copies in their first 30 days. Its September 2025–August 2026 cohort contains 76 titles, up from 55.
Independent games and new IP feature prominently among the additional breakouts, while large-budget releases still account for a substantial share of units. The threshold-based approach is useful for comparing hits, but it excludes the much larger population of releases that never qualify. It cannot establish the success rate for an arbitrary new game. The observation window also differs from a January-to-December calendar-year total.
