Drake Star counts 45 gaming M&A deals in its Q3 report

The October release records $2.4 billion in announced M&A and $1.6 billion across 106 private funding rounds. More than 80% of the latter went to AI and tools.

The report separates ordinary transaction activity from the quarter’s headline megadeals and also tracks public gaming shares. Readers should keep those populations apart rather than add every headline number into one market total. Disclosed deal values and estimated private financing do not capture every transaction. For founders raising capital, the concentration describes where recorded money went; it is not evidence that every game studio has regained access to funding.
