Avalanche takes on global publishing for Supermassive Games

Directive 8020 will be the first title covered by the Nordisk Games partnership. Marketing and distribution will sit with Avalanche Studios Group.

The arrangement joins two studios within Nordisk Games rather than creating a new external publisher. Nordisk says the partners will also share support functions, while keeping their creative identities, game ownership and development roadmaps. For studios considering similar structures, the useful distinction is between centralising commercial operations and combining creative production. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement.
