Sony ends Ternox Games' PlayStation publishing agreement and cancels STONKS-9800 port
Ternox Games says Sony terminated its developer and publisher agreement without explanation, cancelling a planned PS5 version and initially putting existing catalogue titles at risk of delisting.
Independent developer Ternox Games said Sony unilaterally ended its PlayStation developer and publisher agreement without providing a reason. The decision cancelled a planned PlayStation 5 version of STONKS-9800, a stock-market simulator with overwhelmingly positive Steam reviews.
The studio also said its existing PlayStation releases were initially scheduled for removal, although later reporting indicated those games would remain available. The episode highlights platform dependency for small self-publishers: losing account or publishing status can block future ports and threaten catalogue continuity even when the underlying games and IP remain with the developer.
