Wallimage Gaming accepts production funding applications until November 4

The Belgian fund's second 2026 call closes at 5 p.m. local Belgian time. Eligible production companies may be based in Belgium, the EU or EEA, but projects need a significant economic and professional connection to Wallonia.

Wallimage Gaming's open 2026 funding round can support preproduction or production of video games. The programme is backed by a €2 million annual allocation for 2026 and uses a selective assessment of cultural criteria, regional economic impact, team quality and commercial viability.

Preproduction support reaches €75,000 for a vertical slice or demo. Production financing reaches €400,000, including any earlier preproduction contribution. These are maximum amounts rather than standard awards for every applicant.

Companies need at least 30% of the relevant budget already financed. For production, the official page specifies cash contributions toward that acquired financing. A submission must explain the game, target market, game design, marketing and distribution plans, budget and financing sources.

The financing carries commercial obligations. Preproduction support involves participation in the game's exploitation revenue. Production financing is structured as a 10% convertible loan and 90% participation investment, with the participation component involving co-ownership of rights and revenue access. The offer should not be described as a simple non-repayable grant.

Wallimage funding combined with other public support is generally limited to 50% of the total production budget; the page describes a higher ceiling for qualifying difficult works. The detailed rules explain the applicable classification and conditions.

Applications close November 4 at 17:00 in Belgium. Wallimage encourages teams to discuss a project with its gaming staff before submitting. The opportunity is an existing funding round approaching its deadline, rather than a programme newly launched on October 29.
