Game Developers Choice Awards switches to direct submissions for 2027

The official site says submissions are open until 1 November 2026. The change replaces the previous nominations-led entry approach.

Studios should follow the official submission portal and read the release-eligibility rules before entering. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 2 March 2027 during GDC. This is a route to peer recognition, not a development grant, guaranteed nomination or paid distribution opportunity. Prepare accurate release information and the evaluation materials requested by the portal; do not assume the revised process removes eligibility or judging requirements.
