Gardens Interactive reports more than $35 million in new financing

Lightspeed led the round for the social role-playing game developer. Total funding raised to date now exceeds $70 million.

The capital is intended to support the studio’s debut and its subsequent live operations. Gardens said additional closings were still being finalised on a rolling basis when the news was reported on 7 October. That means the published amount is not a statement that every part of the round had closed. The underlying game remained unrevealed, so its commercial prospects cannot be assessed from the financing announcement alone.
