Pocket Worlds acquires Hotel Hideaway and grows its social-world portfolio past 80 million users

Pocket Worlds has acquired Sulake's Hotel Hideaway, adding a social world with 32 million registered users and roughly 300,000 monthly active players. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Pocket Worlds has acquired Hotel Hideaway from Finnish developer Sulake, bringing the mobile social world into the same portfolio as Highrise and Everskies. The combined portfolio now exceeds 80 million registered users. Hotel Hideaway alone has attracted more than 32 million registrations since its 2018 launch and currently serves about 300,000 monthly active players.

The buyer plans to apply its experience in virtual economies, creator systems and community safety while keeping the game available during the transition. The deal size was not disclosed, but the acquisition shows continuing consolidation around established social games with durable communities rather than unproven new releases.
