W4 Games raises $18 million to expand enterprise support for Godot
Tencent led W4 Games' $18 million Series B, bringing total funding to $33 million. The company plans a 50% team expansion and a multi-year push to grow Godot adoption in Asia.
W4 Games has raised $18 million in Series B funding to expand its international team by 50% and accelerate enterprise tools and support for studios using the open-source Godot Engine. Tencent led the round with participation from OSS Capital, LUX and several technology investors, bringing W4's total funding to $33 million.
The financing comes with a multi-year strategic partnership covering go-to-market activity, localisation, ecosystem support and developer advocacy in Asia. W4 says the number of Godot games earning more than $1 million annually has grown from two to more than 50 in three years. The investment could help Godot move further from enthusiast adoption into production pipelines at larger studios.
