Surge Games raises $3 million pre-seed for AI-native mobile production

Play Ventures led a $3 million pre-seed round for Istanbul-based Surge Games. The studio plans to grow its team and user-acquisition capacity after releasing Twin Tiles.

Istanbul startup Surge Games has secured $3 million in pre-seed funding for a production model that applies AI across development, art and user acquisition. Play Ventures led the round, with Simya VC and Drilo Ventures participating.

The four-person founding group brings experience from Turkish mobile companies including Dream Games, Good Job Games and Feraset. Surge has already released its first matching puzzle title, Twin Tiles, on iOS and Android. The new capital will fund hiring, user acquisition and a larger slate. The test for investors will be whether faster production creates durable games rather than simply increasing the volume of prototypes.
