Makers Fund closes $250 million fourth fund for games and interactive entertainment
Makers Fund closed Fund IV at $250 million, lifting assets under management to $1.5 billion. It plans global investments using equity, project and marketing financing.
Makers Fund has closed its fourth fund at $250 million, bringing the specialist investor's assets under management to $1.5 billion. The firm says it has backed more than 90 companies since 2016 and will continue investing globally across stages.
Fund IV expands the mandate beyond game studios into consumer products, platforms, services and creation tools where interactive entertainment is central. Makers also plans to use more than traditional equity, including project financing and marketing financing. For studios, that broader toolkit matters because a company round is not always the right answer for funding a specific title or user-acquisition campaign.
