Tripledot acquires Unity's Supersonic publishing business for $40 million

Tripledot is buying Supersonic from Unity for $40 million, adding a scaled mobile publishing operation with more than 6.2 billion reported lifetime downloads.

Tripledot Studios has agreed to acquire Supersonic from Unity for $40 million. Unity put the mobile publishing operation up for sale as it refocused on advertising and game technology, while Tripledot is adding Supersonic alongside its existing Lion Studios publishing business.

Supersonic has published titles including Bridge Race, Going Balls and Build A Queen and was reported to have exceeded 6.2 billion lifetime downloads. Tripledot says the acquisition adds developer relationships, user-acquisition expertise, product and engineering resources, and a larger footprint in Israel. The deal concentrates mobile publishing scale around companies that can combine capital, data science and distribution.
