Neon raises $13 million to grow direct-to-consumer commerce for game publishers
Neon raised a $13 million Series A to expand its web-commerce platform for game publishers, targeting direct player relationships and alternatives to platform-store economics.
Neon has raised $13 million in Series A funding to expand its direct-to-consumer commerce infrastructure for game publishers. The platform helps companies operate web stores and sell digital goods outside the default checkout systems of mobile and platform marketplaces.
For publishers, the strategic attraction is not only a different fee structure but also a more direct relationship with customers, including ownership of payment and engagement data. The capital will support product growth as regulatory and platform-policy changes make external purchasing routes more important. Adoption will still depend on conversion, fraud management, compliance and the amount of friction players face when leaving an in-game flow.
